DEOTAS is constantly being updated. The data displayed here presents the current state of the database of the German Trademark Office (DPMA). Due to the large amount of data errors or omissions cannot be entirely excluded.

DEOTAS is strongly committed to the protection of your personal data. We would like you to know what data we collect, when we collect data and how we use those data. Log file information
When you use DEOTAS the following data are stored in the log file for a maximum of six months:
- type of browser used
- name of file or page visited
- date and time of access
- duration of visit/session
- amount of data transmitted
- whether access was successful
The log file data cannot be traced back to individuals. They are used solely for the purpose of ensuring the security of the system and optimising DEOTAS service.
Solely in the event of unauthorised access or attempts to access our Internet infrastructure we reserve the right to temporarily store the IP addresses of the accessing host systems. The stored IP addresses are used solely to identify the source of trouble and to keep the DEOTAS service operational or restore operation of the DEOTAS service by initiating appropriate counter measures. In that case only, we reserve the right to initiate the tracing of personal data using individual data records and to use those data for the purpose of legal action.
Enquiries or orders
When you send us an e-mail, your e-mail and e-mail address will only be used to communicate with you. If the information in your e-mail is confidential, we strongly advise that you use an encrypted connection to prevent unauthorised access and corruption of information during data transmission.
Disclosure of personal data to third parties
Data collected from visits to DEOTAS and stored on log files are transmitted to third parties only when required by law or court decision, or in cases when attacks on the Internet infrastructure of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office make it necessary to disclose such data for purposes of legal action or criminal prosecution. We do not transmit data for other commercial or non-commercial purposes.
